How to Throw a Princess Tea Party

!±8± How to Throw a Princess Tea Party

Princess Tea Party Invitations

Using your computer, make a Royal Declaration, with the time and date of the party. Use "royal" sounding language, and print with a special font on parchment paper. (For example: "Hear ye, hear ye! Princess (name of child) invites you to a special Princess Tea Party at the Royal Residence at ________.") The attire should be formal: everyone should come in their best party dress! Use a special seal (available at scrapbook stores) to make the announcement look "official".

Princess Tea Party Décor

Assign one corner of the house to be the special royal dining room. Use a pink and gold theme. All you need is one dramatic centerpiece (wrap boxes in gold foil and pile one on top of the other. Then, seat your child's own dolls and teddy bears on the boxes. This is her Royal Court who have gathered to celebrate with her at her Princess Tea Party. You can make small crowns for them with gold foil and cardboard.

A princess tea party would never be complete without a small table filled with different kinds of cakes, sandwiches and finger foods. You can bake them yourself or order them from a cake shop. Cup cakes are always a hit, especially when decorated with pink icing that spells out your princess' special monogram.

If you're worried about letting small children use your fine porcelain, you can use white plates but not paper plates--it'll ruin that whole "high tea" vibe. Try to get silverware (they can't break those, at least) and remember formalities like place cards: they all add that "grown up" vibe that's so cute about a princess tea party.

Princess Tea Party Give Aways and Party Favors

As soon as your guests arrive at the Princess Tea Party, give them a special gold crown (made of gold foil paper and cardboard) or tiara (available at craft and toy stores). Instead of paper loot bags, buy or make small pouch bags made of velvet or faux silk. Fill with fake pearl necklaces (the longer the better!) and other costume jewelry, glitter nail polish, tiny fans.

Princess Tea Party Games

All children expect a few games at a party, but you wouldn't want them running around in the lawn and getting their dresses dirty! Instead, give them craft activities (like decorating their own crown with beads and stickers).

The Perfect Birthday Gift for your Princess

Your child will love a princess tea party, but imagine how ecstatic she would be to be able to feel like a princess everyday! Why not surprise her with a princess themed room, in delightful and dainty pinks, and gorgeous stencil illustrations! The fully coordinating furniture makes decorating a breeze, too.

Lladro Porcelain - How to Know Your Lladro Porcelain is Authentic

!±8± Lladro Porcelain - How to Know Your Lladro Porcelain is Authentic

Lladro figurines are made in the City of Porcelain, in the town of Almacera, Spain. Three brothers started this business in 1953 in the courtyard of the family home known as Lladro. Today they employ more than 2000 people and Lladro porclain are sold all over the world. Earth, color and fire are the three main elements in the creation of each of the Lladro figurines as they are hand sculpted to perfection.

Specialty boutiques around the world are selling Lladro porcelain pieces. On the other hand, you can always check out their website if you wanted pieces from Lladro Spain and have them shipped to you. Also, use the Lladro website to locate the nearest retail stores in your area if you wanted to see the porcelain figures personally. The best thing about Lladro porcelains is that if you do not find the specific porcelain figure in the catalogue, you are encouraged to contact their customer service hotline and describe the piece that you want.

The authenticity of Lladro collectible figurines are found at the bottom of the figure. You should check the bottom of the figurine if it has the Lladro prototype printed at the bottom, then you can be definitely sure you are an owner of an authentic figurine of Lladro from Spain.

Insurance is the key word. In an unfortunate fate that your Lladro porcelain might break, don't fret since there are repair centers you can go to have your items fixed. The company does not have its own repair shop for Lladro figurines, but if you contact the Customer Service, a representative will be able to give you the name of the company that does its repairs in your country. This is what makes these collectible figurines so valuable and why people who have them want to get the proper Lladro repaired if something happens to them. The numbered series of figurines are also produced in a limited number and carry a certificate of authenticity.

In order to complement your Lladro porcelain, you can purchase accessories to have the edge over other Lladro porcelain collectors. It is advisable however to get an insurance against breakage for your accessories along with the porcelain figurines you have purchased and with this you are now a member of the privileged Lladro from Spain.

Collectible Porcelain Dolls

!±8± Collectible Porcelain Dolls

If you have young kids that have expressed interest in pursuing a hobby that involves fun and patience then this could be the right time to introduce them to doll collecting. However, instead of collecting regular dolls, you should guide them towards collectible porcelain dolls that not only look fantastic due to the intricate finish on each doll but also manage to tell its own story every time you look at it.

Porcelain dolls have been made over the course of several decades and if you too want to pursue this hobby along with your children then it is a good idea to start out with commercially manufactured dolls. Such dolls are priced very reasonably at just over a few dollars and this will allow you and your kids to learn the art of collecting various eye-catching dolls within a short time. Your kids will also learn how to clean and maintain these porcelain dolls before you can think about moving towards collecting rare dolls that simply cost a lot more.

While your children might just love to collect regular and attractive porcelain dolls and might even play with them sensibly, collectible dolls are indeed very costly to purchase and require extreme care during handling and cleaning. A rare porcelain doll could easily costs hundreds of dollars while even rarer ones could go for thousands of dollars. You children should understand the value and rarity of such collectibles before you start moving towards adding antique dolls to your collection.

While doll collecting is certainly a fun hobby that can be continued by your kids even when they get older and have their own children, collecting rare and antique porcelain dolls requires much more knowledge about such dolls. You will need to gauge the rarity and price range of such dolls before you make or accept an offer by a seller. You will also need expert authentication to verify the true age of a doll before you buy it. Your children should be slowly taught these skills so that they too can realize the true worth of their collectible porcelain dolls in case they decide to sell a particular doll or barter it with another doll enthusiast in future.

Instead of simply buying dolls for your children at the start of their hobby, you should encourage them to pay at least part of the cost. They can engage in summer jobs or work errands for you so that they can pay for the dolls that they like. This will instill a sense of value within your kids and also help them appreciate each new doll as they engage in doll collecting with a greater sense of maturity. This will also help you to save larger amounts of money when you embark on buying collectible porcelain dolls that are quite costly to buy as compared to regular dolls.

Collecting porcelain dolls can be a fun hobby for the entire family even as your children learn the fine art of appreciating these gleaming works of art. You should surely start this doll collecting hobby by buying easily available dolls at reasonable rates before moving on to add collectible porcelain dolls into your growing doll collection. Over the years you just might realize that you are sitting on a treasure of rare and wonderful porcelain dolls.
