How to Throw a Princess Tea Party

Princess Tea Party Invitations

Using your computer, make a Royal Declaration, with the time and date of the party. Use "royal" sounding language, and print with a special font on parchment paper. (For example: "Hear ye, hear ye! Princess (name of child) invites you to a special Princess Tea Party at the Royal Residence at ________.") The attire should be formal: everyone should come in their best party dress! Use a special seal (available at scrapbook stores) to make the announcement look "official".

Princess Tea Party Décor

Assign one corner of the house to be the special royal dining room. Use a pink and gold theme. All you need is one dramatic centerpiece (wrap boxes in gold foil and pile one on top of the other. Then, seat your child's own dolls and teddy bears on the boxes. This is her Royal Court who have gathered to celebrate with her at her Princess Tea Party. You can make small crowns for them with gold foil and cardboard.

A princess tea party would never be complete without a small table filled with different kinds of cakes, sandwiches and finger foods. You can bake them yourself or order them from a cake shop. Cup cakes are always a hit, especially when decorated with pink icing that spells out your princess' special monogram.

If you're worried about letting small children use your fine porcelain, you can use white plates but not paper plates--it'll ruin that whole "high tea" vibe. Try to get silverware (they can't break those, at least) and remember formalities like place cards: they all add that "grown up" vibe that's so cute about a princess tea party.

Princess Tea Party Give Aways and Party Favors

As soon as your guests arrive at the Princess Tea Party, give them a special gold crown (made of gold foil paper and cardboard) or tiara (available at craft and toy stores). Instead of paper loot bags, buy or make small pouch bags made of velvet or faux silk. Fill with fake pearl necklaces (the longer the better!) and other costume jewelry, glitter nail polish, tiny fans.

Princess Tea Party Games

All children expect a few games at a party, but you wouldn't want them running around in the lawn and getting their dresses dirty! Instead, give them craft activities (like decorating their own crown with beads and stickers).

The Perfect Birthday Gift for your Princess

Your child will love a princess tea party, but imagine how ecstatic she would be to be able to feel like a princess everyday! Why not surprise her with a princess themed room, in delightful and dainty pinks, and gorgeous stencil illustrations! The fully coordinating furniture makes decorating a breeze, too.
